We provide you with a student support system from the time of admissions to graduation. Our Success Coach will guide you through each step along your path to graduation.
Academic and Technical Support
Excellent technical support is offered within each course through the “Create a Support Ticket” service. Responses to this service are offered Monday-Friday, 8am-5pm. In addition, technical support via phone is offered 24/7.

How to use UNM Learn
UNM Learn is the university’s official Learning Management System for online classes. It includes a virtual course environment with a complete set of tools for course preparation, delivery, and management. UNM Learn enables instructors to design interactive web-based learning environments and to facilitate collaborative, engaging and individualized learning outside of the physical classroom.
Access to Online Tutoring
Access to online tutoring is provided through the UNM Center for Academic Programs Support (CAPS). Whether you are taking an online class or simply seeking online support for your undergraduate studies, CAPS Online Tutoring will help you develop the critical thinking skills necessary for academic success.
CAPS Services for Students:
- Embedded Online Tutoring – individual assistance from a tutor in your online course
- Online Learning Center – NEW! Chat live with a CAPS tutor in a variety of subjects
- Online Writing Lab (OWL) – Submit your paper for peer review by qualified writing tutors.
- Graduate Writing Lab (grOWL) - Submit your graduate paper for peer review by qualified writing tutors.
- Submit a Question – Ask a question anytime, anywhere and receive a response from a tutor.
If you are a student with a disability who is having problems with any of the content delivered through UNM Learn, you should contact your instructor and the UNM Accessibility Resource Center. Your instructor may be able to provide you with a more accessible version of the information or make other accessibility accommodations.

The UNM University Libraries provides a wealth of resources for online students. Students have access to Books, Journals and Course Reserves, Help for Research, and access to useful databases, that include Google Scholar and Lexis-Nexis Academic Universe.
